DELIVERING A GALLERY CAN BE TERRIFYING & EXHILARATING

*takes a deep breath* ANNNDDD...... SEND!

Off that gallery goes to the most amazing client who eagerly awaits the arrival of their gallery. To non-creatives, this sounds like a simple task. Something a businessman would send their colleague a project update or a small business owner emailing a vendor about inventory. Easy peasy...right?

As a young creative, professional, and more importantly, a human being, it is easy to fall into the trap of doubting the quality of your work compared to other creatives out in the world. Going back to a previous blog I wrote about imposter syndrome, the moment the gallery is fully edited and complete is such a rush of excitement and pride. I created this gallery!!! I had a wonderful time during the session!! I hope the client loves how I edited these!! Will they be embarrassed to show their friends this gallery? A million questions and prayers go through your head when you press 'SHARE'.

The best compliment you can give a creative - whether that someone is a photographer, graphic designer, videographer, etc. - is that their work made you FEEL something. "You captured a beautiful moment between my husband and young children. This is a photo I will look back on when we are old and gray while remembering us so young and full of life." or "The wedding video perfectly captured the magic and the emotion of the best day of my life." or even, "Can I book another session with you?" is the most amazing compliment you can give a creative! :)

Even if you are a longtime friend of mine, sending that 'SHARE' button can always be scary. Simply, I just hope you love your photos. And if not, let's talk it out and see how I can improve. That's the only way I can grow and be a better photographer! Constructive criticism shared privately with a creative is so much more appreciated than sharing your unfiltered review to the public without consultation. Please talk to your creative. Please know we are human too.

Every creative is different, every client is different. I hope you, my reader, find that perfect creative for you.

XOXO, Beckie
